As of February 18, 2009, the Law Offices of Virginia C. Cornwell charges the following fees for a Chapter 7 Bankruptcy which is a “no asset” case. This means the debtor’s equity in any assets do not exceed the exemptions allowed by state and federal law. These fees are subject to change at any time, so our fee structure at the time you hire us are the fees you would be charged.
CHAPTER 7 BANKRUPTCY IN THE SOUTHERN DISTRICT OF OHIO:

7. These fees DO NOT include
- additional questions you may have after you have your first consultation but before you have paid your full retainer fee (you would be required to schedule another consultation and pay another consultation fee)
- adding information or amending pleadings if you did not give us all the requested information before we filed your bankruptcy
All fees must be paid in advance and no legal work will be done until the fees are paid in full. This means you cannot refer your creditors to our office until your retainer is paid and full and both the client and Virginia Cornwell have signed a fee agreement. With the exception of the initial consultation fee, please note that for bankruptcies we do not accept credit cards, as running up your credit cards right before you discharge them is considered fraud by the trustee and will cause your bankruptcy to be dismissed. After the initial consultation we accept cash, money orders, cashier’s checks and PayPal (we only accept PayPal payments which are clearly designated as paying for services, not for goods). If you are ready to begin the bankruptcy process, call us today at 614-225-9316.
