  1. Fail to show up at court.
  2. Fail to show up for appointments with your attorney.
  3. Fail to return your attorney’s phone calls or e-mails.
  4. Withhold or delay giving information your attorney needs to prepare your case.
  5. Be dishonest with your attorney.
  6. Try to keep your costs down by keeping them from doing the job you hired them for.
  7. Choose to disregard your attorney’s advice, but then be unwilling to accept responsibility for the results.
  8. Show disrespect to your attorney or your attorney’s staff.
  9. Refuse to help locate the information or documents your attorney ask you to produce.
  10. Expect to pay your attorney on any terms other than the terms in your fee agreement.
